Meet Dr. Emily

Emily (she/her) is a trailblazer in the world of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and newborn care.

As the founder and CEO of Be Well Baby PDX, Emily brings a unique blend of expertise as a doctor of physical therapy, certified neonatal therapist, yoga teacher, and seasoned perinatal professional. Her journey began in the NICU, where she recognized a profound gap in holistic peripartum care. In response, she combined her skills and background to create a comprehensive approach for birthing people and their babies.

“My passion for working with newborns is contagious, and I have a deep respect and appreciation for their little bodies and brains. I believe that all of us need help with our bodies—and the best place to start is at the beginning.” - Emily

Emily also has a partner and three little ones who keep her busy like every other mama out there.

Meet Dr. Daniella

Daniella (she/her) will hit a decade of being a board certified Doctor of Physical Therapy in June of 2025! She began working in New York City, her home turf, in adult Neurology, fascinated by the central and peripheral nervous system and all that our brains and bodies can do.

She moved to Oregon in 2018 where her love and infatuation for all categories of pediatric physical therapy began to evolve. She has worked in outpatient pediatrics, the Neonatal ICU, the Pediatric ICU, and everything in between.

In the last 6 years Daniella has become the infant specialist at Doernbecher Children’s hospital, primarily focusing all her time, brain power, and devotion to patients 12 months and under. She has seen it all in her time at DCH and is now excited to share her wealth of knowledge and expertise with the Be Well Baby family!

Meet Dr. Keri-Kamryn

Keri (she/her) is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a mom, and she’s incredible at what she does. She has a deep passion for working with infants in their first three years, helping them reach their full developmental potential through a holistic, hands-on approach.

With expertise in bodywork, neuromotor development, pelvic floor therapy, and breathing mechanics, Keri treats little ones as whole people, addressing the root causes of movement and feeding challenges. She has a special interest in neurological and motor development, as well as musculoskeletal restrictions that can impact feeding—like torticollis and myofascial tension.

Keri is always learning, growing, and expanding her toolbox to better serve babies and their families. Her dedication, knowledge, and heart make her an invaluable part of our team, and we are so lucky to have her!

Meet Faith Samaan

Faith (she/her) is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) with over 17 years of experience supporting families in both inpatient and outpatient settings from pregnancy through weaning phase. With expertise working in the Family Birth Center (FBC), NICU, and PICU, Faith is deeply committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate care.

Faith advocates for and supports all babies and parents facing feeding and latching concerns, regardless of whether they are providing human milk. She is dedicated to offering inclusive antepartum, postpartum, and family-centered care, addressing complex lactation challenges and ensuring the highest standard of support for every family.

Known for her advanced expertise in areas such as tongue tie, low milk supply, flange fitting, and bottle feeding refusal, Faith continuously enhances her knowledge through classes and conferences. Her approach focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of feeding difficulties, providing practical, individualized feeding plans that are specifically tailored to each family’s unique needs.

Meet Kate

Kate (she/her) began working with breastfeeding families as a peer lactation counselor with Nursing Mothers Counsel in 2014. She quickly became deeply involved with the organization and took on multiple board positions. She coordinated new counselor training in 2016 and 2018, and managed the website and social media accounts to bridge the generational gap and bring free lactation services to new parents.

Kate is now a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and her private practice was founded in 2021 when she relocated with her family to Portland, OR. She is thrilled to be able to use her clinical skills on the team at Be Well Baby PDX!

In 2022 she began her study of craniosacral therapy (CST) for infants with Beames CST and has begun to incorporate those skills into her lactation assessments, bringing a much deeper, full-body approach to care. She completed training in June 2023, and became a Certified Infant Craniosacral Therapist in April 2024.

Meet Melody

Melody’s yoga journey began in 2004 when she was immersed in her high-stress corporate career in Public Relations. Yoga had an immediate and powerful effect on Melody, when only weeks after starting to practice she felt that her body and brain had changed forever. It was such a profound difference, that she began to dedicate her life outside of work to the study and practice of yoga.

After receiving her 200-hour teacher training in 2008 at Yoga Tree in San Francisco, she began teaching vinyasa flow and yoga for athletes classes, but still continued to march forward in her PR career. In 2017, she made the decision to leave PR behind her and dedicate her life to helping people. She became a certified Yoga Therapist and 500-hour E-RYT at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, along with becoming a certified perinatal yoga teacher.

Most recently, Melody is back in school to pursue a doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD) at Pacific University where she hopes to integrate her yoga teachings into her OT skills and interventions. Her yoga style blends yoga philosophy with creative movement and breath awareness to create customized yoga sessions that are dynamic, fun and therapeutic. Melody does one-on-one yoga therapy sessions with a focus on women’s wellness, back health, pelvic floor balance & strengthening and trauma-informed care.

Meet Lillian

Meet Sarah

We’re so excited to have Sarah on the Be Well Baby team! With 15 years of nursing experience and a decade as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, she’s bringing both expertise and a deep passion for supporting parents to her new role. After years in intensive and palliative care, she stepped away from the hospital to focus on the important work of motherhood—so she knows firsthand how much support parents need.

Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Sarah was an event manager and an opera singer and she was really good at karate!

Now, she’s taking over scheduling and daily operations at Be Well Baby, making sure everything runs smoothly so we can keep showing up for you. We’re so lucky to have her warmth and wisdom on our team!

Need to reach her? Send her a text at 503-893-8310!

“Our mission is to change the way people think about peripartum healthcare. We aim to set a new standard of care for pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and babies.”
